A lot of people with migraine headaches rely greatly on pharmaceuticals to manage the pain. But migraine drugs comes with a very long list of negative effects, including nausea, dizziness, vomiting, and even more head aches if the drug is not underuse.
Fortunately, there are natural treatments accessible to alleviate migraines without the negative effects of drug. A new study suggests that chiropractic and massage adjustments could provide considerable relief from migraines.
Researchers found that chiropractic treatments reduced patients’ migraine pain by a mean of 68%. The treatment administered as a member of the study involved extending, gentle massage, and chiropractic adjustments of the neck and upper back. The treatment itself provided fast-acting relief. Just one hour after getting the treatment, patients were requested to rate their pain level on a scale of 1 to 10. The average patient’s pain scores dropped from 5 to 0.5 as a result of the treatment. There were no major side effects reported by the participants.
Additional research should be run to fully understand the varying causes of migraines. This study adds to previous research by showing that chiropractic treatments could be a highly effective treatment for many migraine patients.
